Nikoz Kazantzakis

Kazantzakis is one of my favourite thinkers. Specially when he confronts religion and god. He is the author of the book Zorba the Greek, The Last Temptation of the Christ and Martin Scorsese used it as inspiration for the movie with the same name...

His life personal view released by his books and quotes definitely changed my life, specially my vision from god & religiion. I take all from him as an inspiration... by the way he was excommunicated from church...

I´m sharing with you some of his quotes so you can explore the depht of his thinking heart.

  • A person needs a little madness, or else they never dare cut the rope and be free.

  • Beauty is merciless. You do not look at it, it looks at you and does not forgive.

  • Every perfect traveler always creates the country where he travels.

  • Everything in this world has a hidden meaning.

  • I expect nothing. I fear no one. I am free.

  • I hope for nothing. I fear nothing. I am free.

  • I said to the almond tree, ''Friend, speak to me of God,'' and the almond tree blossomed.

  • In order to succeed, we must first believe that we can.

  • My entire soul is a cry, and all my work is a commentary on that cry.

  • Since we cannot change reality, let us change the eyes which see reality.

  • The real meaning of enlightenment is to gaze with undimmed eyes on all darkness.

  • There is only one woman in the world. One woman, with many faces.
